Dining Room Transformation

I had purchased toile wallpaper well over ten years ago, wanting to paper the center hallway in my old home, the 1936 Dutch Gambrel Colonial.  I, instead, opted to have it painted in a wonderful yellow hue.  I believe people have a love/hate relationship with toile, but I love it.  I don't want to be overwhelmed by it.  Subtlety is the key, as well as, giving it a modern touch.  Although, on a very extrememly tight budge and my husband's carpentry skills (more white collar than tradesman),  it turned out well, none-the-less.  We worked with the old paneling for budget and time constraints and the old carpeting.  After a thorough carpet cleaning, I am putting down my Script Bamboo Rug, which I had searched for and coveted for years.  I finally grabbed one up at Decor Deals.  (I will eventually get the link for you -- soon.) The Living Room had a makeover, as well, but I will share in another post.

(I read so many apologies on blogs about the quality of the photos.  I have a point and shoot -- my daughter's at that.  It is quite evident.  I may aquaint myself with lighting and such as time presents itself. I suppose you can take that as an apology of sorts.)
