A Family Gathering

I come here this evening after days full of so much joy and companionship and hope.  Although, today was a bit worrisome, it took a turn for the better as I stood at my window overcome to see a female cardinal on a branch of a sycamore tree.  After my parent's passing, cardinals would appear at times of great joy in my life and in times of uncertainty.  I willed this visit to be a good sign and grew even more hopeful when two male cardinals appeared.  They were glorious, the red so vibrant, so beautiful.  It made me cry, overwhelmed.  When the text came in, I was relieved, taking life one day at a time.  We are in God's keeping.

But this post is about family and giving thanks.  This is my memory-keeper as we dwell in this 1917 home.
